Crushed by a buzzer-beater! Another top draft prospect eliminated! All 26.6 million March Madness prediction brackets were wrong.

March Madness is heating up.

Why does this tournament cause such a stir? A big part of it is the unpredictability of single-elimination games.

So-called "upsets" happen frequently.

Now in the Round of 32, NCAA official social media announced that all pre-tournament prediction brackets have failed.

Zero out of 26.6 million!

Also, historically no one has ever achieved a perfect 63-game prediction, underscoring the difficulty once again.

Today alone saw two "upset" games.

1. The defending champion, No. 1 seed Florida, was crushed by a buzzer-beater, losing 72-73 to No. 9 seed Iowa, ending their run in the Round of 32.

2. Top draft prospect Darlin Peterson's No. 4 seed Kansas was stunned by a buzzer-beater from St. John's guard Dylan Darlin, losing 65-67 and heading home.

That Darlin made only one shot all game... and it ended Kansas' season.

This is the magic of basketball.

NCAA is the perfect place for this slogan:

Where Amazing Happens! The place where miracles are born.

Here, there are too many stories of underdogs and small teams overcoming the odds.

But let's mainly talk about three big names.

They say 2026 is a big draft year, how are the top guys performing?

AJ Dibansa's No. 6 seed BYU lost 71-79 to No. 11 seed Texas, eliminated in the first round (64 to 32).

He played 39 minutes, shot 11/25, made 12/12 free throws, scored 35 points, 10 rebounds, 1 assist, becomingthe first freshman since Curry in 2007 to score 30+ in his March Madness debut.

However, his team lost to Durant's alma mater.

This season, Dibansa played 35 games, averaging 25.5 points, 6.8 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 1.1 steals, but with 3.1 turnovers, shooting 51% FG, 33.1% 3PT, 77.4% FT.

Height 2.06m, wingspan 2.13m, plays as a forward, compared to Jaylen Brown/Tracy McGrady, combining explosiveness, ball-handling, and transition ability.

At this moment, AJ is the top favorite for the No. 1 pick.

Darlin Peterson, on his elimination night, played 35 minutes, shot 5/15, 3/8 from three, 8/10 free throws, scored 21 points, 4 rebounds, 4 blocks.

In two March Madness games, averaged 24.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, 1 steal, 2 blocks.

Repeated hamstring injuries, unsure if it will affect his draft stock.

From his playing style, Peterson is a scorer.

But in my view, he lacks some skills, like playmaking ability, passing vision...

An Edwards with less physical gifts?

We'll see after he enters the NBA, currently cautiously optimistic.

Among the top three prospects, my favorite player is Boozer's son: Cameron Boozer from Duke.

The Blue Devils beat TCU 81-58, advancing to the Sweet 16, next facing the underdog St. John's.

The "genetic warrior" Boozer scored a game-high 19 points plus 11 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals, 1 block.

Seeing him from the U19 World Cup to now, my biggest impression is: he could skip college and be ready to play in the NBA.

If I were still a student, I might prefer high-flying, physically gifted rookies.

But now... I appreciate players with higher technical maturity more.

Don't know if you guys notice: those hyped physical freaks every year, few actually pan out, like the one compared to Jordan and Kobe...

In their student days, they relied mostly on physical play, lacking tactical understanding, and rarely focused on refining skills.

In highlight clips, they look amazing, but the result...

Boozer is very different, he's already a "finished product" player, this style and approach means he's unlikely to be a bust.

Freshman season: 22.4 points, 10.3 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.5 steals, some media call him the "modern Duncan".

Though I like him, that's overhyped, Boozer far lacks the defensive presence of the Stone Buddha... However, it shows this player's maturity and adaptability.

Can Boozer become the No. 1 pick? Currently it's difficult, but depends on his March Madness performance, maybe leading his team to the title could elevate him... By the way, the last NCAA champion to become No. 1 pick was... Daddy Davis?
