Injured again.

Two days ago, before Beijing team's away game against Zhejiang team (66-81 loss), 30-year-old Zhao Rui unexpectedly suffered a leg strain during warm-up. It is said to be a new injury, specifically a deep strain in his right leg. Relevant sources indicate he needs two weeks of rest.

Recently, Zhao Rui's performance has been excellent, repeatedly playing crucial roles in saving the team, especially showing no weakness against strong opponents. Against Liaoning team, he shot 11 out of 13, scoring 34 points, 2 rebounds, and 4 assists. Against his former team Guangdong, he shot 9 out of 17, contributing 23 points, 4 rebounds, and 5 assists, etc., and was elected the weekly best player for the 10th week of the regular season.

So far this season, Zhao Rui has played 19 games for Beijing team, starting 13 times, averaging 23.7 minutes per game, scoring 13.2 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 5.8 assists, with a shooting percentage of 48.6%. He averages 1.5 three-pointers per game at a 42.4% rate, with his three-point shooting percentage being the highest in his CBA career. However, his injury issues are truly concerning.

Beijing team, with the league's most luxurious roster, currently ranks sixth in the league with 21 wins and 12 losses, behind Shanghai team (29-4), Guangsha team (27-6), Guangdong team (22-11), Shenzhen team (22-11), and Shandong team (22-11).

Zhao Rui's health is crucial. He is Beijing team's best playmaking core, contributing significantly to offense, defense, and organization. He is also an indispensable member for the Chinese men's basketball team.

In the first window period of the World Cup qualifiers, the Chinese men's basketball team, without Zhao Rui, suffered two consecutive losses against the Korean men's basketball team. In the second window period, Zhao Rui helped the Chinese men's basketball team achieve two consecutive wins, defeating the Japanese men's basketball team and the Chinese Taipei team. In those two games combined, he shot 3 out of 17, totaling 22 points, 8 rebounds, and 8 assists. His impact cannot be fully reflected by statistics; he is mainly the team's backbone.

This summer in July, the Chinese men's basketball team will once again face the Japanese men's basketball team and the Chinese Taipei team. We still very much need a healthy Zhao Rui to be able to play then.
Currently, the Chinese men's basketball team is 2 wins and 2 losses, ranking third in Group B, behind the Japanese men's basketball team and the Korean men's basketball team, and ahead of the Chinese Taipei team.
