On April 6 Beijing time, after James made controversial remarks suggesting the Grizzlies relocate to Nashville, a young Grizzlies fan directly told him to retire.

James recently appeared on the "Bob Does Sports" program and made quite controversial statements. Originally intending just a light-hearted joke, the "King" stirred up a huge storm—he openly stated he dislikes playing in Memphis and suggested the Grizzlies move to Nashville.
James is not the first player to criticize this city; Anthony Edwards and Draymond Green have also previously criticized Memphis. However, James' remarks still sparked strong dissatisfaction among Grizzlies fans. Recently, an emotional young fan even told this 41-year-old superstar to retire immediately.
“This old man has no right to comment, bro. He might have been okay in his prime, but can we just get him to retire? Go somewhere else and stay cool.” said this young Grizzlies fan.

James faced fierce online backlash for his remarks wishing the Memphis Grizzlies would move to Nashville, and that young Grizzlies fan's reaction is a typical example. However, this four-time NBA champion did not regret it; instead, he continued to speak out, escalating the situation further.
The Athletic reporter Lou Murray asked James if he wanted to clarify his remarks. He not only stuck to his original point but also added Milwaukee and Cleveland to the list of cities he dislikes playing in.
“Milwaukee too. Did they not hear that? Right now, I don’t like playing in two cities—Milwaukee and Memphis. What’s the problem?” said James.
Despite the ongoing controversy, James is currently focused on the upcoming games, while both Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves will miss the remainder of the regular season due to injuries. Currently, the Lakers are third in the Western Conference with a record of 50 wins and 27 losses, and they will next face the Dallas Mavericks at the American Airlines Center.
