The latest news of the Rockets chasing letters: willing to send Shen Jing + Xiao Jia + multiple first-round Bucks may want Green more

On May 16, Beijing time, according to NBC Sports reporter Kurt Helin, league sources revealed that the Rockets are ready to include All-Star center Shin Kyung in a potential trade chip, and the Bucks may be more inclined to include Jalen Green's trade package. Forward Jabari Smith Jr. could be a necessary part of any offer, plus the Rockets have multiple future first-round picks to use as bargaining chips.

The American media commented that the Rockets will obviously only send Shen Jing for players of Brother Alphabet's level - after all, almost all teams in the league will be willing to put any player on the shelf in order to get such stars. Notably, despite the Rockets' view of Amen Thompson as a "not for sale" in trade talks, Shin didn't get the same treatment.

From the perspective of lineup fit, Shin Kyung's inclusion in the offer is reasonable: the core combination of Amen, Antetokounmpo and Shin Kyung currently has an offensive space flaw - there is no reliable three-point shooter among the three.

Shin played in 76 regular-season games (31.5 minutes per game) for the Rockets this season, contributing 19.1 points, 10.3 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 1.1 steals while shooting 49.6 percent from the field and 69.2 percent from the free-throw line. In seven playoff games (36.6 minutes per game) against the Golden State Warriors in the first round, the 22-year-old improved his stats to 20.9 points, 11.9 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 1.9 steals, shooting 45.0 percent from the field and 62.5 percent from the free throw line.

Shin Kyung signed a five-year, $185 million rookie max contract extension with a 2029-30 rookie contract extension that will take effect next season.
