Hello everyone, I'm Game Xiaodi.
Everyone knows that Honor of Kings is a highly team-oriented game, so selecting a lineup requires certain compatibility to fully unleash the heroes' strengths. Therefore, very powerful combinations often emerge in the game. Previously, the well-known "Sun Bai Yang" was actually the combination of Sun Bin, Bai Qi, and Yang Yuhuan. Another example is "Ma Yao," which is the combination of Marco Polo and Yao. During recent gameplay, Xiaodi also discovered a new pair, and the synergy effect is quite impressive. I recommend you try it too: Sun Shangxiang + Sima Yi.

The biggest prerequisite for a combination to succeed is that they can complement each other and amplify their strengths, and these two happen to fit quite well.
Complementary point: Peak periods. Sun Shangxiang's peak period is mainly in the late game, similar to most marksmen. With normal economic growth, her damage in the late game is quite considerable. Sima Yi's peak period is mainly in the early to mid-game. After reaching level four, Sima Yi can leverage his high mobility to frequently gain advantages on the lanes. However, as the game progresses, once opponents' equipment is fully developed, Sima Yi tends to become somewhat weaker in the late game.

In this aspect, they complement each perfectly. Sima Yi's early-game strength can protect Sun Shangxiang to develop quickly, because if Sima Yi exerts enough pressure, the enemy team will hardly have the energy to target Sun Shangxiang. In the late game, Sun Shangxiang can compensate for Sima Yi's declining damage output, which relates to the next complementary point.

Complementary point: Damage. Sun Shangxiang's late-game damage is indeed exaggerated. Sometimes against fragile targets, if all damage hits fully, it's entirely possible to instantly eliminate them. However, achieving such scenarios is very difficult because opponents won't foolishly stand there to be attacked. Often, a control skill or displacement move allows them to escape Sun Shangxiang's range. Therefore, Sun Shangxiang mostly reduces them to low health but struggles to finish them off, especially without Flash. Sima Yi's difficulty in the late game stems from needing to engage in close-range combat and sustain continuous basic attacks, while usually built with pure offensive items, making him quite vulnerable too. When opponents also possess strong combat capabilities, rushing into the fray recklessly could lead to immediate elimination, leaving little opportunity for output.

Thus, if Sun Shangxiang and Sima Yi are both present, it's entirely feasible for Sun Shangxiang to suppress opponents to low health first, then Sima Yi can use his long-distance dash to secure the kill. At that moment, opponents typically have all their skills in cooldown and their health is very low. Even someone completely inexperienced can easily finish them off, so the success probability is extremely high.

That's all for this content. If you found it good, feel free to give a like to support. If you have anything else to say, ask, or want to see, leave a comment below, I'll check them all~
