Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi once again cause social media to explode, as they reunite in a 2026 World Cup commercial with Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Jr., drawing millions of views.
The two football legends Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi once again stir up the online community, appearing together in an advertising campaign aimed at the 2026 World Cup in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
Previously, this duo created a global sensation with their collaboration in a Louis Vuitton advertisement ahead of the 2022 World Cup. And now, they continue to "join hands" in a new project, this time alongside two top young stars, Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Jr.
In the LEGO advertisement titled "Everyone wants a piece," all four players appear as mini-figure models, sitting around a dark table with a LEGO version of the World Cup trophy. As the table rotates, the superstars each try to place their model on the prestigious trophy—a symbol Messi once conquered at Lusail Stadium during the 2022 World Cup.
However, the ending is full of surprise when none of them wins. A child unexpectedly appears and "snatches" the trophy, conveying the message that football always belongs to every generation.
The video was quickly shared by Messi on Instagram, accompanied by the hashtag "Honestly it's not AI", as a way to affirm the authenticity of the product. LEGO also reposted the video and tagged Ronaldo, Mbappe, and Vinicius Jr. The participation of all four major names helped the advertisement quickly attract millions of views.
Additionally, each player also has their own LEGO collection for fans to own, contributing to stirring up the atmosphere ahead of the planet's biggest football festival this summer.
Earlier, Ronaldo and Messi once caused a "storm" when appearing in a chess-playing photo on a Louis Vuitton suitcase. Within just 30 minutes, this image achieved 10 million likes and became one of the most liked posts in Instagram history, even praised as "the smartest advertisement ever."
Notably, although appearing together in campaigns, behind-the-scenes reveals that the two superstars did not actually photograph at the same time.
The 2026 World Cup is predicted to be the sixth and possibly the final World Cup in the careers of both Ronaldo and Messi, closing the era of the two greatest icons in football history.
