Vietnam U20 women's team conducts recovery training.

The Vietnam U20 women's national team resumed training in Bangkok (Thailand), continuing preparations for their second match in the 2026 AFC U20 Women's Asian Cup Finals. The day before, Coach Okiyama Masahiko and his squad had played their opening match against China's U20 women's team.

During this session, the coaching staff proactively divided the squad into two groups to ensure appropriate workload. The group of players who played extensively in yesterday's match engaged in light recovery exercises, including relaxation and stretching drills.

The remaining group continued with specialized training content, focusing on tactical skills and team organization to prepare for the upcoming match.

According to the schedule, the Vietnam U20 women's national team will face the host team, Thailand U20 women's team, at 20:00 on April 4 at Thammasat Stadium.

“The home team's advantages in the next match are significant, from weather, spectators, familiarity with the pitch to favorable match timing. These are the benefits of playing at home. We will focus on optimal recovery, ensuring player fitness for the next match against Thailand,” head coach Okiyama Masahiko stated.

Coach Park Hang Seo accompanies the South Korean national team.

The former head coach of the Vietnam national team assumed the role of Team Leader during the March FIFA Days friendly series in Europe, comprising two matches where South Korea faced Ivory Coast and Austria.

Although the two matches did not yield the expected results, experts still highly valued his contribution in the role of connecting and supporting the coaching staff under Head Coach Hong Myung Bo.

Coach Park Hang Seo holds prestige in South Korean football due to his experience as an assistant to Coach Guus Hiddink during the 2002 World Cup, where the South Korean national team reached the semifinals.

His close relationship with Coach Hong Myung Bo further strengthens the likelihood that Park Hang Seo will continue to play a significant role in the 2026 World Cup.

From 2017 to 2023, Park Hang Seo led the Vietnam national team to conquer numerous titles and historic milestones at both regional and continental levels.

VFF leadership visits injured Vietnam U19 player.

On April 2 afternoon, Deputy General Secretary Nguyen Minh Chau, representing VFF leadership, visited and encouraged player Ngo Hoang Gia Huy of the Vietnam U19 national team, who recently underwent surgery for a fracture of the fifth metatarsal bone. The surgery was performed at Vinmec Hospital.

Ngo Hoang Gia Huy is a young player under Ho Chi Minh City Club, called up to the Vietnam U19 national team during the recent training camp at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center for squad assessment and preparation for the 2026 ASEAN U19 Championship and the 2027 AFC U20 Asian Cup qualifiers.

This player sustained the injury after one week of training with the national team, influenced partly by a previous injury. Timely treatment provided Gia Huy with the best conditions for recovery, aiming for a safe and effective rehabilitation process.

Tuyet Dung and Trong Hoang study to become coaches.

On April 2 afternoon, the AFC/VFF "B" Certificate Coaching Course Phase 1 officially opened at the Hall of the National Defense Sports Center 3 (Da Nang City), running from April 1 to 12, 2026.

This marks a significant milestone in building the coach training system following the C – B – A pathway between VFF and the Japan Football Association, aiming to enhance youth football training quality and sustainable development.

Teaching this course are Mr. Koshida Takeshi and Mr. Tran Duc Toan. Both instructors have been recognized by FIFA for their qualifications and professional competence after a two-year training process.

Representing the participants, class leader Do Trong Hai (Thanh Hoa Club) expressed gratitude to VFF and the local organizers, affirming that all participants will strictly adhere to regulations and diligently absorb knowledge according to AFC/FIFA standards to achieve the best results.
