Four spots secured in the women's singles quarterfinals at the Macau World Cup! Japanese team suffers major defeat, Wang Yidi defeats Miwa Harimoto, Sun Yingsha and Wang Manyu advance.

On April 3 Beijing time, four matches of the women's singles quarterfinals at the Macau World Cup concluded. In the internal derby, Sun Yingsha trailed continuously but reversed the match 4-2 against Kuai Man. Wang Manyu was in full form, sweeping Ito Mima 4-0. Wang Yidi upset the higher-ranked Miwa Harimoto 4-1. Qin Yuxuan lost 1-4 to the veteran German player Winter, who employs a unique playing style. Thus, four quarterfinal spots are confirmed: Sun Yingsha, Wang Yidi, Wang Manyu, and Winter!

Sun Yingsha faced Kuai Man. This was an internal derby within the Chinese national team. Not long ago at the Chongqing Championship, Kuai Man had upset Sun Yingsha, so Sun was determined not to repeat that mistake. The match was fiercely contested; Kuai Man twice led Sun Yingsha, but Sun leveled it at 2-2 each time. Crucially, in the fifth set Sun displayed dominance to win 11-6, taking a 3-2 lead and securing match point. In the sixth set, Kuai Man led 8-4 but seemed disturbed and lost composure. Ultimately, Sun Yingsha seized the crucial points to win 13-11, claiming three consecutive sets to reverse the match 4-2 against Kuai Man and successfully advance to the quarterfinals!

Qin Yuxuan faced Winter. Against the experienced German veteran Winter, whose unique playing style has previously troubled Chinese national team main players, the young Qin Yuxuan had brought a surprise by defeating Hayata Hina but found no advantage against Winter. Although she narrowly won the first set, she was then overwhelmed by Winter's distinctive tactics, losing decisively and conceding four straight sets for a 1-4 defeat against Winter—an expected outcome!

Wang Yidi faced Miwa Harimoto. Wang Yidi, often criticized by fans for losing to Japanese players, confronted a tough test against the recent Chongqing Championship winner Miwa Harimoto, who is also higher-ranked. Wang Yidi prepared thoroughly and handled key points exceptionally well, winning three consecutive sets to reach match point. Miwa Harimoto saved one match point in the fourth set. In the fifth set, Wang Yidi showed stronger fighting spirit to win 11-8, defeating her opponent 4-1 and upsetting her way into the quarterfinals!

Wang Manyu faced Ito Mima. Wang Manyu had an early exit in the previous Chongqing event. Returning fully energized against the declining Ito Mima, Wang trailed in the first set but reversed it to win, then took control of the match. She maintained overwhelming pressure, consecutively crushing her opponent with large margins, thus sweeping Ito Mima 4-0 and powerfully marching into the quarterfinals—a remarkably effortless victory!
