A series of V-League teams receive penalties from VFF

Before Round 17 of V-League 2025/2026, three teams—The Cong Viettel, Thanh Hoa, and Da Nang—were penalized by the VFF Discipline Committee due to breaches of discipline in Round 16.

On the eve of Round 17 of V-League 2025/2026, a wave of unexpected disciplinary sanctions was imposed by the Vietnam Football Federation's Discipline Committee, drawing significant attention from fans. The three clubs—The Cong Viettel Club, Thanh Hoa Club, and Da Nang Club—all faced penalties for violations during the matches of Round 16. The Cong Viettel Club was fined 2 million VND after five players received yellow cards in their match against Hai Phong Club at Hang Day Stadium on March 15. Thanh Hoa Club also received a similar penalty of 2 million VND when five players were given yellow cards in their match against Nam Dinh Club at Thien Truong Stadium on March 13. Meanwhile, Da Nang Club faced the heaviest penalty in Round 16. Besides 2 million VND for five players receiving yellow cards in their match against HAGL Club, the home team of Chi Lang Stadium was additionally fined 10 million VND for arriving late, violating Vietnam Football Regulations. This incident subjected the club to both financial pressure and professional image concerns among fans.

The disciplinary sanctions emerging intensively before Round 17 are not merely measures to address violations, but also a reminder for all clubs regarding competitive spirit, preparation, and discipline.
