Ronaldo exchanged his expensive supercar for the phone number of an American supermodel

A former Manchester United employee disclosed that he assisted Cristiano Ronaldo in getting the phone numbers of Dannii Minogue and Kimberly Wyatt, receiving the Portuguese star's Porsche supercar as compensation.

The initial period of wearing the Manchester United jersey for Cristiano Ronaldo spanned from 2003 to 2009, a time during which he rapidly ascended to become a top global superstar and one of the most commercially valuable athletes.

In 2007, the Portuguese superstar briefly dated actress Gemma Atkinson, known for her roles in Hollyoaks and Emmerdale series. However, he also showed interest in other celebrities and enlisted Rod Thornley, a Manchester United masseur at the time, to approach them. Rod Thornley stated that he helped acquire the phone number of Dannii Minogue, an X-Factor judge and the sister of pop star Kylie Minogue.

The two reportedly dated a few times, but the relationship quickly ended without progressing further. Thornley recounted on the podcast Under the Cosh: “While I was massaging Ronaldo, X Factor was playing on TV. He asked, ‘Who is this girl?’ It was Dannii Minogue. Then he asked me to get her phone number. I thought I was just a Manchester United masseur, but ultimately, within just 4 or 5 days, I had her number and gave it to Ronaldo. They went out a few times but nothing further developed.”

Not stopping there, Ronaldo next took notice of Kimberly Wyatt from the Pussycat Dolls after watching her perform on a television program. He once again asked Thornley for assistance.

At that time, Ronaldo was preparing to transfer to Real Madrid for a world-record fee of 80 million pounds. Thornley decided to request a “reward” for this help: Ronaldo's Porsche.

He successfully persuaded the Portuguese superstar to sell him the car for half its price. After purchasing it, Thornley immediately resold the car and made a substantial profit.

Thornley further recounted: “About 4-5 months later, when Ronaldo was about to leave Manchester United, he once again asked me to get Kimberly Wyatt's phone number. At that point, I said, ‘I've helped you a lot; what do I get?’ He asked if I liked his car, then said he would sell it to me for half price when he moved to Real Madrid. I only needed about 10 minutes to get her number and give it to Ronaldo. By the end of the season, I inquired again, and he kept his promise. I paid 30,000 pounds for a car worth 60,000 pounds and sold it the very next day for 50,000 pounds.”

Currently, Ronaldo is in a long-term relationship with Georgina Rodriguez, who previously worked as a sales assistant for Gucci and whom he met while playing for Real Madrid.
