When will the final team participating in the AFC Asian Cup 2027 be determined?

At present, it is only possible to determine 23 of the 24 teams that will participate in the AFC Asian Cup 2027 finals.

The Vietnamese national team has officially secured qualification for the AFC Asian Cup 2027 finals ahead of schedule. The AFC's decision to award Malaysia a 0-3 defeat in two matches due to violations regarding the use of naturalized players created a crucial turning point. In the return match held on March 31, the Vietnamese national team convincingly defeated Malaysia again with a 3-1 scoreline. This victory not only affirmed their status but also helped the team achieve a historic milestone by winning all six matches in the qualifying round.

A cohesive and effective playing style, combined with confident competitive spirit, has made Vietnam one of the most consistently performing teams in the region. As of now, 23 national teams have guaranteed their spots in the AFC Asian Cup 2027 finals. This list includes many top continental names such as Japan, South Korea, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and Australia, alongside Southeast Asian representatives like Vietnam, Thailand, and Indonesia. The participation of these strong teams promises a tournament with high professional quality.

The final spot remains undetermined and will depend on the match between Lebanon and Yemen. This match was postponed and is scheduled to take place in June. Currently, Lebanon leads the group with 13 points, two more than Yemen. By avoiding defeat, Lebanon will officially participate in the finals.

The AFC Asian Cup 2027 finals will be hosted in Saudi Arabia, running from January 7 to February 5, 2027. The cities of Riyadh, Jeddah, and Al Khobar will host the matches with modern stadium facilities. Riyadh alone will utilize five stadiums for the tournament, contributing to an Asian Cup expected to be grand and professional.
