Manchester United's signing of Arsenal's left-back could cost at least £50 million, with one player capable of filling two roles! The full candidate list has been revealed.

Manchester United have recently been linked with Arsenal's 19-year-old left-back Myles Lewis-Skelly, with rumors even suggesting that this England international is pressuring the Gunners to transfer to the Red Devils. Lewis-Skelly laughed it off: "They can sign me in FIFA!"

It is certain that Manchester United received information from agents about Lewis-Skelly's transfer, possibly for "price inflation." Meanwhile, Arsenal also stated that Premier League clubs wanting to sign this player must pay an "absolutely crazy" transfer fee, though not explicitly stated, it can be added: especially for Manchester United.

The Red Devils need a left-back. Luke Shaw, who will turn 31 this summer, has started all Premier League matches this season, but the club believes that when returning to Champions League football with twice-a-week matches, the "English Carlos" will definitely need rotation, otherwise who knows when he might enter a fragile mode.

Moreover, Manchester United fans know that once it's a contract year and his position is threatened by new signings, Luke Shaw performs exceptionally well, so introducing positional competition for him is beneficial.

Although Lewis-Skelly has become a backup among backups at Arsenal this season, Manchester United still admire him. This may relate to Lewis-Skelly's versatility; he can also play in central midfield, and Manchester United lack depth both at left-back and midfield, needing such a versatile player.

Lewis-Skelly's characteristics are similar to another rumored target for Manchester United, France international Eduardo Camavinga of Real Madrid, who also started as a midfielder and was used by Carlo Ancelotti as a left-back, performing quite well.

Last season, Lewis-Skelly played 39 matches across all competitions and was unanimously rated as the best young player by Manchester United legend Gary Neville and Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher, also becoming Thomas Tuchel's preferred left-back for England. Ironically, after renewing his contract with Arsenal last summer, Lewis-Skelly lost favor.

So far, Lewis-Skelly has only started once in the Premier League, falling behind Ricardo Calafiori and Piero Hincapié in the pecking order. His agent is clearly dissatisfied and has contacted many clubs, including Manchester United. But that does not represent Arsenal's stance; transfer expert Ben Jacobs said only a high premium could attract Mikel Arteta's team to release him.

"Manchester United have made informal inquiries, they really like Lewis-Skelly," Jacobs said. "The player is also willing to explore other options to seek more playing time. If anyone wants direct club-to-club negotiations, they must be willing to pay an excessive transfer fee. Interest in Lewis-Skelly first requires his agreement to transfer, then persuading Arsenal to negotiate."

If an offer above £50 million is received, Arsenal could agree to sell, as they are not short of left-backs, and Lewis-Skelly is a homegrown player, with all transfer fees recorded as pure profit, helping Arteta with purchases.

Lewis-Skelly is reportedly not the only left-back Manchester United are focusing on; the club reportedly has four main targets. These include Benfica's Samuel Dahl, a 23-year-old Sweden international under José Mourinho, whom United scouts have observed over ten times this season.

Additionally, sources confirm that Manchester United are also monitoring Fulham's Antonee Robinson, Crystal Palace's Tyrick Mitchell, and RB Leipzig's David Raum, all familiar names in United's transfer rumors. It must be emphasized that Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS prefer signing Premier League players.
