Dong Thap Club achieved its first win of the current season in the "reverse final" against Ho Chi Minh City Youth Club, leading to changes in the ranking table.
Dong Thap Club claimed its first victory in the 2025/26 National First Division by defeating Ho Chi Minh City Youth 3-1 in round 13, thereby creating a significant shift at the bottom of the table.
The match at Cao Lanh Stadium resembled a "reverse final," as both teams had not won since the start of the season and were deep in the lower part of the standings. Ho Chi Minh City Youth started more favorably when Huu Trong opened the scoring in the 5th minute, giving the visiting team an early advantage.
However, Dong Thap showed clear improvement in the second half. After a period of stalemate in the first half, the home team accelerated strongly and turned the tide thanks to goals from Romario (53rd minute), Huu Khoi (58th minute), and Tran Vuong (90th minute).
The full three points helped coach Quang Sang's team rise from the penultimate position to 10th place with 9 points, while widening the gap with Ho Chi Minh City Youth – which remains at the bottom of the table with 4 points.
In the top group, Quy Nhon United continued its upward trend by defeating Xuan Thien Phu Tho 4-1 to climb to 2nd place in the standings. The martial land team is in very stable form with a recent unbeaten streak of 3 matches, scoring 9 goals and conceding only twice.
This victory allows Quy Nhon United to close in on the top spot held by Truong Tuoi Dong Nai, while confirming they are becoming a notable contender in the promotion race.
In the other match on April 3rd, Van Hien University drew with Quang Ninh 1-1, thereby missing the chance to break into the top 5.
