Ronaldo shoulder injury

Legend Ronaldo Nazario disclosed he unfortunately sustained an injury after taking part in a friendly tennis match with world number one Carlos Alcaraz.

Carlos Alcaraz, who won the Australian Open in February, is currently preparing for the clay court season. The Spanish player will defend his Monte Carlo Masters title as the tournament is about to begin.

Although Jannik Sinner completed the "Sunshine Double" with victories at Indian Wells and Miami Open, the 22-year-old still leads the men's singles rankings with 13,590 ATP points, more than Sinner, who has 12,400 points, ahead of the clay court season.

While both tennis stars aim to reach their best form for Roland-Garros, the same cannot be said for former striker Ronaldo Nazario, who played for Real Madrid, Barcelona, Inter, AC Milan, and the Brazilian national team.

The 2002 World Cup champion revealed that he suffered a shoulder injury after being hit by a shot from Alcaraz during their friendly tennis match in Miami in 2025.

Speaking to CazeTV, Ronaldo said his shoulder has remained inflamed since then: “My shoulder has been inflamed since that time. It was in November, right?

He was hitting quite gently, everything was fine. His shots had moderate force and I could still handle them. But in one play, after a good rally, he hit very hard and the ball struck me.

The pain lasted about two days. When I returned to São Paulo, my shoulder prevented me from greeting people normally. I even posted on Instagram, icing my shoulder.

On his part, Alcaraz also praised Ronaldo's tennis ability. After the match, the player who has won seven Grand Slam titles said he was impressed with the former Brazilian star: “He played very well. I had seen videos of him playing, but when facing him directly, he performed even better than what I had seen before.”
