Bosnian goalkeeper criticized Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma for tearing his penalty notes.
On April 1, Bosnia & Herzegovina defeated Italy in a penalty shootout during the European playoff to secure a spot in the 2026 World Cup.
In the shootout, Bosnian players successfully converted all four penalties, while Italy missed two. Bosnia ultimately won 4-1 in the shootout and earned their place in the 2026 World Cup.
Bosnian goalkeeper Nikola Vasilj stated that his national team was prepared for possible scenarios in the playoff: "We had a second copy of the notes detailing Italy's penalty-taking tendencies."

Bosnian goalkeeper Nikola Vasilj complained to the referee about his torn penalty notes.
For goalkeepers, these notes are considered a "cheat sheet" because they record the penalty habits of opposing players.
Italian goalkeeper Donnarumma tore the Bosnian goalkeeper's notes, but Nikola Vasilj still had another copy to use.
Regarding Donnarumma, he also had penalty notes, but a Bosnian ball boy took them away.
The moment a Bosnian ball boy snatched Donnarumma's penalty notes.
Nikola Vasilj's comments after St. Pauli's draw with Union Berlin last weekend concluded and clarified the issue of the two penalty notes.
In the shootout, Tahirovic successfully converted the first penalty for Bosnia, then Pio Esposito stepped up to take a penalty, but under psychological pressure, he shot the ball over the bar. Immediately afterward, cameras captured Vasilj reacting angrily to referee Turpin behind the goal, showing him a torn note. Meanwhile, Donnarumma was also furious and pointed toward the right side of the goal along the crossbar.
That was the spot where a Bosnian ball boy, Afan Cizmic (14 years old), quickly snatched and took away Donnarumma's penalty notes, leaving the goalkeeper without any supporting information.
In contrast, Vasilj could still rely on the coaching staff's advice regarding Italy's penalty takers. However, Vasilj hardly needed to showcase his skills because aside from Tonali's successful penalty, two Italian penalty takers performed poorly: Esposito shot over the bar, and Cristante hit the crossbar.
Vasilj criticized Donnarumma's action: "He tried to tear it up. Fortunately, the assistants gave me a new one. We prepared thoroughly and had a second copy. Honestly, I almost couldn't believe this happened. This is the first time I've encountered such a situation."
"We had a bit of an argument, then I tried to talk to the referee to convince him to issue a yellow card. That was truly unsportsmanlike behavior," the Bosnian goalkeeper concluded.
