According to Italy's Football Market Network, Manchester United have allowed centre-forward Rasmus Hojlund to enter into talks with Serie A's Juventus, who have already made concrete moves and have made substantial contact with the Red Devils and Hojlund after exploratory inquiries.
The 22-year-old Danish international has scored just four goals in 35 Premier League games this season and is sorry for his £72 million transfer fee. According to Italian media, Manchester United is willing to lose money and only accept a fixed transfer fee of 30 million pounds, while setting some floating clauses.
Manchester United have scored just 42 goals in the league so far, so Ruben Amorim is keen to bolster his attacking line by bringing in at least two players. Zirkze, who joined for €42.5 million last summer, was also a target for Juventus at one time, however, the Red Devils ultimately opted to keep the 23-year-old Dutchman.
Zirkze didn't start the season well but he showed good form in the number 10 position and was one of the best performers in the squad before the season was reimbursed due to injury. Therefore, although Zirkze and Hojlund's goal percentages did not meet expectations, Amorim chose to give Zirkze another chance next season.
And Italian media claim that Juventus have decided to sign Hojlund to replace Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic, who seems certain to leave. Zirkze was also a target of the 'Old Lady' at one time, with coach Thiago Motta as his mentor, but Amorim refused to let him go, and the Serie A club had to turn to Hojlund.
The only obstacle to Manchester United's sale of Hojlund is the price, as long as they are willing to "trade at a loss", the player's salary will not pose much of an obstacle, because unlike Antony, Sancho and Rashford, who earn more than £200,000 a week, the Danish centre-forward's income is low in the Red Devils, plus the bonus of £85,000 a week, most European giants can afford it.
According to the British "Daily Star", in Manchester United's current squad, in addition to Amorim's Patrick Dolgu and Eden Haven in the winter transfer window in January, only captain Bruno Fernandez, central defender Harry Maguire and winger Amad Diallo are players that the manager will never consider selling.
The rest of United's players are likely to be considered for sale as long as the price is ideal, and of course, the purge of players such as Ugarte, Mazraoui, Zirkze, De Ligt, Lenny Yoro and Lisandro Martinez is also relatively low in the order and is unlikely to leave. Ironically, including Hojlund, Garnacho, Kobe Mayno and other players who used to be "not for sale" at Manchester United are now candidates to be sold.
It's not just Hojlund, the British newspaper Daily Star claims that Manchester United are willing to sell Garnacho for £65 million, Chelsea are still interested in him, and Napoli in Serie A is another potential buyer. With Amorim approaching £62.5 million in Wolves striker Cunha, the 20-year-old Argentine winger has inevitably stepped back in the order of appearance, and can only be used as a substitute for the left and right wingers.
Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has opposed the club's sale of Garnacho and believes it would be the wrong choice to sell him. "When there's room to run, Garnacho can be a real devastating threat. He's going to need to work on the final shot, but he's still young and improving, so it's all going to happen. Stick with him and I believe Manchester United should keep him."
