Reigning Serie A champions Inter Milan are keen to bring in Dutch striker Zirkze from Manchester United in the summer transfer window, and reaching the Champions League final will give the Nerazzurri more money, and they will be looking to bring in new strikers to compete with Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram. Manchester United are thought to be selling one of their two existing centre-forwards this summer, with Zirkze and Hojlund unlikely to both remain at the club.
The 23-year-old, who joined United from Bologna for €42.5 million this season, has gone on to prove himself again. Overall, however, they have not been doing well up front, scoring just seven goals, and in the Premier League in particular, with just three goals.
Prior to the hamstring injury in April, Zirkze played a good tandem at the No.10 position, but his shooting was still a shortcoming and he didn't have much quality to be a regular centre-forward. Next season, Manchester United will bring in £67 million in new signing Cunha, plus players such as Amad Diallo and Bruno Fernandes, and the competition for the No.10 position is very fierce.
According to Italy's "Roma Sport", Inter believe that it is possible to bring in Zirzek from Manchester United on a loan-to-buy basis, and will agree to an optional or mandatory buy-out clause. Simeone Inzaghi is desperate to bolster the squad depth in attack, as Antonio Conte's Napoli are also ambitious. Inter are currently one point behind in the Serie A standings, exiting the semi-finals of the Coppa Italia and losing the Italian Super Cup.
Inzaghi Jr. felt that substitute striker Joaquin Correa and veterans Marco Arnautovic and Medi Taremi were too far behind the two starters. Therefore, he wants Inter to sign another good striker and strive for a better record next season. He believes Zirkze can bring a different tactical approach, and his skill and creativity will improve the team's forward line.
Since January, there have been rumours that Zirkze could return to Italy, and Juventus have expressed interest in it, but the Bianconeri have now given up on Zirkze's mentor Thiago Motta. The Dutch striker may want to stay at Manchester United, but he won't object to a return to Serie A, where he has a better chance of being a regular depending on United's options.
Ruben Amorim has a choice to make, whether to keep Zirkze or Hojlund. At the current level, Zirkze could be the first choice to stay, however, Sir Jim Ratcliffe may also consider who is more likely to sell, and it was for this reason that he purged United Academy midfielder Scott McTominay, who has scored more than double figures since joining Napoli and has been criticised for his decision-making.
Manchester United want to sell Hojlund, however, the club is looking to recoup the £50 million transfer fee due to the club's £73 million investment that year, a price that has put all clubs off. There are also quite a few teams interested in Hojlund, mainly from Serie A.
According to Milan Sport, Napoli are one of them, and Conte, who has used many of the Reds' veterans, believes it will not be difficult to convince the 22-year-old Danish centre-forward to join, but his price is a major hurdle, with few Italian teams being able to afford the £50 million (€60 million) amount.
Not only that, but with Hojlund's performance this season, other clubs also feel that if they agree to pay half a billion to bring him in, they will become a laughing stock. This means that between Hojlund and Zirkze, Manchester United should sell the "freighter", but it is the Dutch man from the Netherlands who is more likely to sell, because he is more reasonably valued.
