Manchester United's Sancho rescue plan exposed! Lajue wants to rent it for free, and hopes that it will be renewed and sold next year

Chelsea have officially announced the return of Jadon Sancho and United have received £5 million in compensation, but what to do with the 25-year-old England winger remains a major problem. Directly terminating the contract and sending him away is one of the radical approaches, however, the British media "Football Insider" said that Sir Jim Ratcliffe was reluctant to do so, and also wanted to "save" the player who joined at a high price of 73 million pounds. Another equally risky approach would be to rent him out for free, activate the renewal clause next year if he performs well, and then seek to sell.

Manchester United originally thought that Chelsea would buy Jadon Sancho for £25 million, and the two sides signed a loan contract at the start of the season, stipulating that as long as the Blues finished 14th or higher, they would be obliged to complete a permanent transfer, but they did not expect that they would not hesitate to pay money and officially sign him.

Sancho's contract with Manchester United expires in June 2026, meaning that if Sancho is loaned out, he could get nothing next year. However, his £250,000-a-week salary means that no one can match that treatment now except for the Saudi Arabian Pro League, but Sancho is reluctant to travel to the Middle East.

United also have a one-year first-option clause on Jadon Sancho's contract, which could recoup a certain amount next year if it is activated and a loan-to-buy contract is agreed to send him to another European side in the hope that he will perform well.

Sancho has five goals and 10 assists in 41 Chelsea appearances this season, including a winner in the UEFA Cup final, but it wasn't enough to convince the Blues to keep him. Therefore, Sancho will have to play better to be able to attract buyers to pay for him. This also makes the plan to renew Sancho's contract a huge risk, Manchester United have learned many lessons in the past, such as Phil Jones, Jesse Lingard, Marcos Rojo and others, all of whom have been ignored after the contract extension and rotted in their own hands.

The latest example is the departure of Swedish centre-back Victor Lindelof, whose contract extension was activated last year and was intended to be sold in the summer window last year. Unexpectedly, Ten Hag arranged for him to play in the warm-up match against Liverpool, and the 30-year-old "Iceman" was injured and sidelined for a long time, and finally stayed at the club for the last year of his contract and is now leaving for free. Not only did Manchester United not receive the transfer fee, but they also gave an extra £4.5 million in annual salary for nothing. Despite making 25 appearances last season, Lindelof played just 1,225 minutes overall, which equates to less than 14 full games.

Renewing his contract retains value, an operation that former Manchester United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward used to do, but almost every time it failed and became a laughing stock. Therefore, if United's new management do this to Sancho again, it could make some fans angry that the club's operators have not taken the lessons of the past and repeat the mistakes of the past.

Sancho's potential next home could certainly rule out two teams, one is Chelsea, who returned him, and the other is Bundesliga runners-up Bayer Leverkusen, who contradicts him. In addition, his former club Borussia Dortmund has also informed Sancho that he has no plans to bring him in again this summer.

It is reported that although Dortmund is Sancho's first choice, the club's sporting director, Sebastien Kehl, has publicly stated: "To a certain extent, there has always been contact with Jayden [Sancho] because we have worked together twice and for a long time. But that's not our plan, we have other priorities, so the Sancho rumours are mainly a topic of discussion in your media, not within us."

Jadon Sancho's good friend Marcus Rashford is another winger who could be on loan from Manchester United. According to Western media, Barcelona intends to wait until the last minute of the summer window to propose a loan to Manchester United, at which time Rajue may have no choice but to agree to loan him, otherwise he can only stay in the team and release the reserve team. Rashford's weekly salary is as high as 325,000 pounds, and even if he misses the Champions League salary cut, it will be more than 12 million pounds a year.
