Manchester United will meet Tottenham Hotspur in 5-2 promotion! Ruud van Nistelrooy returns on his managerial debut and is expected to lead the team to Chelsea

Manchester United thrashed Leicester City 5-2 in the Carabao Cup fourth round and Ruud van Nistelrooy claimed his first interim managerial victory. The Reds will travel to Tottenham Hotspur in the quarter-finals, where they eliminated Manchester City 2-1 to advance. Other powerhouses in the Carabao Cup are Liverpool, Arsenal and Newcastle United, who will face Southampton, Crystal Palace and Brentford respectively.

After making his debut under former protégé Ruud van Nistelrooy, he returned to Old Trafford with England cricket star Michael Vaughn alongside Harry Maguire, Christian Eriksen and Toby Collier. He enjoyed a big win as he wished, scoring six goals in the first 45 minutes.

Ruud van Nistelrooy is certainly an interim interim manager who will not be able to turn the other way in 2018 as his former team-mate Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. However, the former Dutch striker said it was an honour to be the Manchester United manager, even if it was a temporary worker. He enjoyed every minute of it, and it was perhaps an opportunity he had anticipated when he joined Ten Hag's coaching staff this summer.

Leicester have only two regular regulars, while Manchester United have only two or three who are not, so the Reds' big home win doesn't need to be overstated. However, when Ten Hag returns to the Netherlands, he may smash the TV in anger when he sees the player in front of goal finding the 'shooting boot' he lost before the end of the lesson.

Ruud van Nistelrooy's task is to restore the team's confidence before the arrival of the permanent manager, who is not aware of how many games he will end up coaching. As he walked out of the tunnel, he raised his fists into the familiar West Stand, and the crowd chanted his name "Luther" in response. They didn't have to wait long for their first chance to celebrate, in the 15th minute of the game, Garnacho simply knocked back, Bruno Fernandes deliberately leaked to Casemiro behind him, "Fat Tiger" stopped the ball and shot directly from a distance, the ball flew straight into the corner, Manchester United 1-0 Leicester City.

Less than 15 minutes later, Diogu Darlow crossed from the right for offside and Garnacho fired a powerful shot into the top corner to give United a 2-0 lead. The Argentine winger missed a couple of great chances in Ten Hag's dismissal campaign, but this time he got the ball on the ground and then raced to the corner to celebrate. Ruud van Nistelrooy reminded De Ligt, Victor Lindelof and Casemiro to join in the celebrations and wanted his players to show unity.

Manchester United's attacking efficiency has improved, but defensive problems have not been solved. Rare No.1 goalkeeper Bagendil made a mistake when Bilalel Hanus got the ball on the left side of the penalty area, and the ball hit the far post and bounced off the near post and into the net, giving United a 2-1 lead.

However, the Reds quickly put their 73,000 fans back at ease when they took a free-kick in front of the penalty area, which was not a big threat, but it hit James Justin in the wall and redirected into the net, and the Red Devils extended their advantage again at 3-1.

Casemiro then headed in from Marcus Rashford's cross, which hit both posts but bounced back in front of him for a second shot that sealed a 4-1 victory. Ten Hag may be lamenting that his team's luck has improved since he left.

Defence's luck was still not ideal, Casemiro cleared the ball but the ball was on Darlow, bounced back in front of goal to set up Coady to score easily, and the score was 4-2 at half-time, and United took the lead back to the dressing room.

After the rematch, Leicester City fought back to try to continue to close the gap, however, United withstood the opposition's attack, and B Fee took advantage of Caleb Okoli's return pass error, past the goalkeeper, he faced the empty goal did not think about life like Darlow against West Ham, and scored with a low shot, Manchester United ended the suspense of the game 5-2.

After the game, Ruud van Nistelrooy cheered with the fans on the way back to the dressing room and stood in front of the West Stand to wave and applaud all four platforms. It's a bit of a goodbye, but maybe he'll be back here again on Sunday. Ruud van Nistelrooy's victory continued United's impressive record with Ryan Giggs, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Michael Carrick and Ruud van Nistelrooy as interim managers since 2014, winning 19 of their 27 games and scoring 59 goals.

In Lisbon, Portugal, Manchester United's prospective new boss Ruben Amorim is certainly keeping an eye on the game. He returned to Sporting Portugal's training base on Wednesday night to continue training with the team. According to the latest news, the 39-year-old could wait until after the November international break to take up his duties at Manchester United. The timing may be earlier, but Amorim is unlikely to be available for United's clash with Chelsea on Sunday, even if United can reach an early termination agreement with Sport de Portugal in the coming days.

Manchester United need to pay 10 million euros to Sporting for Amorim, but if they don't add money, they will have to wait a month before taking charge. In addition, another 5 million euros will have to be paid if Amorim's coaching staff – Carlos Fernández, Adrio Candido and Jorge Vital – are to be taken away, as well as sports scientists Paulo Barella and Emmanuel Ferro.

CBS's Ben Jacobs has revealed that Amorim's deal could be announced as early as Thursday, but he may not join until Nov. 10, after which he will continue to lead Sport through his game against his former club Braga.

When asked by Sky Sports if he would like to stay after Amorim's arrival, Ruud van Nistelrooy replied in the affirmative: "Absolutely. I'm here to help the club as an assistant coach and now in this role I'm going to help when I need it, and in any role in the future I'm going to help build the club further into the future. That's why I'm here. I said I'm here to help, I'm here to serve, I'm willing to give everything I can to the club in any capacity, I've got so many people around me who want the best for the club and that's never going to change."

Ruud van Nistelrooy also admitted that his big win was due to luck: "We scored some good goals, like the first goal, Casemiro scored the world wave. I have to say we were lucky, like the ball bounced off Casemiro twice at the post and Bruno took a free-kick and deflected it in. We scored five goals and we created more and better chances against West Ham, Fenerbahce and Brentford but didn't take them, so suddenly luck came and it was a fantastic day.'

If Ruud van Nistelrooy continues to lead the side on Sunday, Chelsea at Old Trafford will be a real challenge. The Blues lost the Carabao Cup in midweek and were knocked out by Newcastle.
