Djokovic withdrew from the ATP Rome Masters

On April 30, Beijing time, six-time champion Djokovic announced his withdrawal from the 2025 ATP Rome Masters, which will be his first absence from the main event of the Rome Masters since 2007, and the full-time record will be terminated.

Novak Djokovic made his debut in Madrid

Djokovic finished runners-up at the ATP Miami Masters in March, but then failed to win in Monte Carlo and Madrid, making his debut three times in the four ATP1000 Masters tournaments this year. After his exit from Madrid, Djokovic reflected on his current predicament: "I was hoping to play one more game here than in Monte Carlo, but that's a new reality for me – trying to win one or two games instead of thinking about going far in the tournament. It's a completely different feeling from the last twenty-odd years of my career, so it's a psychological challenge for me to really face that feeling on the pitch because it's often going out early in games now. ”

"Of course it's the natural law of life and career, and eventually everything will happen, but I try to use it as a motivation for the future. I've said many times that a Grand Slam tournament is the most important tournament for me. Of course, that doesn't mean I don't want to win here, of course I want to win, but the Grand Slam is where I really want to play my best tennis. I'm not sure if I'll be able to do that at the French Open, but I'll do my best. ”

If Djokovic also chooses not to play in the ATP 500 Hamburg and ATP 250 Geneva in the week before the French Open, he will start this year's French Open with a 0-2 warm-up record. Djokovic retired last year due to a knee injury after reaching the quarterfinals of the French Open, and after recovering he won the Wimbledon men's singles silver medal and the Paris Olympics tennis men's singles gold medal.
