Hanoi Men's Volleyball Club staged an emotional comeback by defeating Ho Chi Minh City Police with a score of 3-2 (24-26, 16-25, 25-20, 25-23, 21-19), thereby securing the bronze medal at the 2026 Hoa Lu Binh Dien Cup.

Hanoi overcame difficulties in a spectacular manner

Set 1 witnessed a fiercely contested match as both teams continuously chased the score. Neither side managed to establish a safe lead, forcing the set to extend into a tie-break. Here, Ho Chi Minh City Police demonstrated greater composure to secure a narrow victory.

In Set 2, the police force team completely dominated. Unstable first-step coordination caused Hanoi significant difficulties in launching attacks and they quickly lost with a large margin, falling into a disadvantageous position trailing 0-2.

With no retreat in Set 3, Hanoi played with much greater focus. They maintained a leading advantage in the final phase thanks to an effective blocking line, thus winning 25-20 to narrow the overall score.

Set 4 continued to deliver drama as Ho Chi Minh City Police led 19-14 at one point and stood before the opportunity to end the match. However, Hanoi surged powerfully, erased the deficit, and surged ahead at the crucial moment. Their resilience helped them close the set with a 25-23 victory, sending the match into a tie-break.

In the decisive set, the two teams continued to create a breathless chase. The balanced situation was maintained until the final points and once again had to be decided by an extended tie-break. At the critical moment, Hanoi effectively utilized their blocking ability to secure a 21-19 victory.
