The star returns to Vietnam, promising to dominate the National Volleyball Championship.

The professional quality of the first-round matches in the National Volleyball Championship is anticipated to reach a higher level due to the comeback of this renowned name.

The men's volleyball team The Cong Tan Cang successfully reached an agreement to recruit Indonesian player Rivan Nurmulki for Stage 1 of the 2026 National Club Volleyball Championship.

This is not an unfamiliar name to Vietnamese volleyball fans. In last season's competition, Rivan Nurmulki previously played for The Cong Tan Cang in stage 2 and quickly proved his worth. With impressive performance and effective scoring ability, he contributed significantly to helping The Cong secure a spot in the finals and finish the season as runner-up.

After leaving Vietnam, the 1995-born hitter played in Thailand for Club Diamond Food and also represented the Indonesian national team. At the 33rd SEA Games in late 2025, the caliber of Rivan and Boy Arnez Arabi helped Indonesia win the silver medal—only losing to the host in the final match. After the tournament concluded, Rivan also officially retired from the national team after many years of dedication.

Possessing an ideal height of 2 meters and a jump reach of up to 3.60 meters, Rivan Nurmulki is expected to continue being the main offensive weapon for The Cong Tan Cang in this season.

Besides Rivan, The Cong Tan Cang will add another foreign player to increase the team's depth. In stage 1 of the previous season, The Cong Tan Cang once utilized two formidable Cuban foreign players and achieved positive results.

The military team recently concluded the 2026 Hoa Lu - Binh Dien Cup with a final ranking of 5th. After parting with star player Tu Thanh Thuan, The Cong Tan Cang is creating opportunities for young players to showcase and shine, with notable names like Pham Xuan Sinh, Trinh Ngoc Dat, and Thach Quang Phu.

Additionally, experienced athletes of the team such as captain Van Nam, Manh Hung, Manh Tai, Duc Hoang, and Thanh Tung will still participate, ready to pursue the highest positions in the upcoming National Club Championship.
