This promises to be a standout player in Stage 1 of the 2026 National Volleyball Club Championship.
Chinese hitter Wang Yizhu will be the foreign player for LPB Ninh Binh in Stage 1 of the 2026 National Volleyball Club Championship taking place in Dong Anh, Hanoi from April 6 onwards.
Wang Yizhu, born in 2001, plays as an outside hitter with a height of 1.87m, a jump reach of 3.10m, and a block reach of 3.05m. She began her career with China's strong club Tianjin Bohai Bank and continues to play for the team to this day.
This is a hitter with high professional quality, having won the Chinese National Championship six times with Tianjin, the 2021 Chinese National Games championship, the 2019 Asian Club Cup gold medal, and the runner-up position in the 2024 World Club Cup.
In the national team jersey, Wang has participated in major tournaments such as VNL (2022, 2024), the Asian Championship (2019, 2023), and the 2022 World Championship.
This will be a quality addition for LPB Ninh Binh, a team needing to improve its offensive power as Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen cannot play this season. At the Hoa Lu - Binh Dien Cup on their home court recently, Ninh Binh failed to defend their championship title, ranking only 4th with the scoring burden heavily placed on the shoulders of the captain, newcomer Nguyen Thi Uyen.
Initially, LPB Ninh Binh wanted to bring back last season's foreign player Miroslava Paskova, but the Bulgarian hitter had a busy schedule in the US and could not make it to Vietnam. Similarly, Edina Begic, a former foreign player for Geleximco Hung Yen, could not arrange a return to Vietnamese volleyball, so Wang Yizhu was ultimately selected.
LPB Ninh Binh faces a challenging season amid strong investments from competitors. The team will not have the services of Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen and Nguyen Thi Trinh, while Nguyen Thi Hoai Mi, Nguyen Thi Kim Lien, and Le Thanh Thuy have left. Conversely, the reigning national runner-up recruited Nguyen Thi Uyen, Nguyen Thi Thanh Mai, Nguyen Thi Thuy, and Pham Thi Nhu Quynh.
