List of foreign players in Round 1 of the Vietnamese Women's National Volleyball Championship

Round 1 of the Vietnamese Women's National Volleyball Championship 2026 promises to be exciting with an impressive list of foreign players announced by the teams.

In the women's category, the foreign players include Nannaphat Moonjakham (outside hitter) and Tichaya Boonlert (setter) of Duc Giang Chemical, Wang Yizhu (main attacker) of LPBank Ninh Binh, Sun Jie (outside hitter) and Che Wenhan (main attacker) of Dong Bac Information, Cai Xiaoqing (main attacker) of XM Long Son Thanh Hoa, Lianet Garcia (main attacker) of VTV Binh Dien Long An, Suvi Kokkonen (main attacker) of Vietinbank, and Ivana Vanjak (main attacker) of Hanoi Tasco Auto.

Notably, there are four Chinese foreign players: Wang Yizhu, Sun Jie, Che Wenhan, and Cai Xiaoqing participating in Round 1 of the Vietnamese National Volleyball Championship this year.

Among them, Cai Xiaoqing is a familiar face who previously played for XM Long Son Thanh Hoa.

However, the name that attracts more attention is Wang Yizhu, born in 2001, height 1.87m, foreign player of LPB Ninh Binh. Playing as a main attacker, she has a jump reach of 3.10m and a block reach of 3.05m. She previously played for the strong Tianjin Bohai Bank Club, winning 6 Chinese National Championship titles, the gold medal at the 2021 Chinese National Games, the gold medal at the 2019 Asian Club Cup, and the silver medal at the 2024 World Club Cup.

In the Chinese national team jersey, Wang participated in the VNL 2022, 2024, Asian Championships 2019, 2023, and the World Championship 2022. Her presence will enhance the firepower of LPB Ninh Binh.

Additionally, there are two Thai foreign players: Nannaphat Moonjakham and Tichaya Boonlert of Duc Giang Chemical.

Vietinbank places trust in Finnish main attacker Suvi Kokkonen, while the league's newcomer, Hanoi Tasco Auto, has chosen German hitter Ivana Vanjak.

The foreign player who arrived earliest in Vietnam is Lianet Garcia (Cuba, female player of VTV Binh Dien Long An), showing high performance at the 2026 Hoa Lu Cup. Garcia Lianet is indeed the player who scored the most points at the 2026 Hoa Lu Cup with 98 points. The 1.88m tall Cuban main attacker will play a crucial role for VTV Binh Dien Long An this season after helping the Western team win the 2026 Hoa Lu Cup.
