Volleyball star Kieu Trinh first speaks out about injury situation

The hand injury led to Hoang Thi Kieu Trinh's absence in the just-concluded Hoa Lu - Binh Dien Cup 2026.

National team player Hoang Thi Kieu Trinh is currently in recovery after suffering an injury during training ahead of the Hoa Lu - Binh Dien Cup 2026 held at Ninh Binh Provincial Gymnasium in late March.

As a result, Kieu Trinh missed both the Hoa Lu Cup and could not participate in Phase 1 of the 2026 National Volleyball Club Championship starting April 6th in Dong Anh, Hanoi.

Recently, the volleyball beauty from old Quang Binh posted two photos on her personal Facebook page with the caption:"The doctor advised limiting movement... so I just go for milk tea" along with attached emoticons. The images show Kieu Trinh's left finger and wrist carefully splinted; she still cannot resume normal training.

Based on this bandaging method, it is highly likely Kieu Trinh suffered a finger bone fracture.

The post by the 2001-born hitter quickly garnered over 2,000 interactions, with several colleagues: Ngo Bich Hue, Lai Thi Khanh Huyen, Vi Thi Nhu Quynh, Ha Kieu Vy, Huynh Quoc Su - Kieu Trinh's boyfriend along with numerous fans commenting, mainly inquiring and wishing the player from Thong Tin - Dong Bac a speedy recovery.

Some fans also reminded Trinh "Ngao"... to limit milk tea to avoid weight gain.

The absence of Hoang Thi Kieu Trinh significantly affects the strength of Thong Tin - Dong Bac, as demonstrated in the recent Hoa Lu Cup. Young stars like Bich Hue - who filled Kieu Trinh's position, Vu Hong Thao Huong, or Nguyen Huynh Phương Thuy all performed excellently, yet in crucial moments, the experience and caliber of Kieu Trinh remain what the military-uniform team greatly needs.

Pressure on the shoulders of young players during Kieu Trinh's recovery period will lessen somewhat as in the upcoming Phase 1 of the National Championship, Thong Tin - Dong Bac will have the service of two foreign players Sun Jie and Che Wenhan.
