SEA V Cup 2026 Awards: Ngoc Thuan's Big Win, Vietnam Takes Half the Prizes

Among the 8 titles awarded by the organizing committee following the second leg of SEA V Cup 2026, the Vietnamese team claimed 3, with outside hitter Nguyen Ngoc Thuan brilliantly completing a double in individual awards.

The brightest star of SEA V Cup 2026 is named Ngoc Thuan.

Ngoc Thuan is indeed the brightest star of SEA V Cup 2026. The Vietnamese outside hitter was named in the two most important categories: Most Valuable Player (MVP) and Best Outside Spiker.

This reward is entirely deserved for Ngoc Thuan's explosive performance throughout Leg 2. He scored a total of 98 points, the highest in the tournament, becoming the spearhead of Vietnam's attack in their championship journey. In the final against Thailand, won 3-2, he recorded 31 points, including 27 attack points and 4 block points, surpassing Chaiwat Thungkham (29 points) and far ahead of Napadet Bhinijdee (19 points) to become the top scorer of the match.

Not only possessing consistent scoring ability, Ngoc Thuan also constantly shone at decisive moments with powerful attacks from the wings and a courageous competitive spirit. The double individual honors are a clear testament to his new leadership role in Vietnamese men's volleyball.

Alongside Ngoc Thuan, Tran Duy Tuyen was also honored as Best Middle Blocker. With his quick attacks, effective blocking, and consistency throughout the tournament, Duy Tuyen made significant contributions to Vietnam's championship. In the final against Thailand, the middle blocker scored 13 points, creating several turning points with accurate blocks.

Apart from Vietnam's three awards, the remaining titles were evenly distributed among Thailand, Cambodia, and Indonesia. Boonyarid Wongtorn (Thailand) was voted Best Setter. Napadet Bhinijdee (Thailand) received the Best Opposite Spiker award, while Pakkapong Kwangnok (Thailand) was named Best Libero.

In the remaining positions, Voeurn Veasna of Cambodia was honored as Best Outside Spiker alongside Ngoc Thuan, while Hendra Kurniawan of Indonesia made the dream team with the Best Middle Blocker award alongside Tran Duy Tuyen.

Securing 3 out of 8 individual honors, including the most prestigious award for the best player of the tournament, demonstrates Vietnam's dominance at SEA V Cup 2026. Not only did they have a cohesive team that won the championship, but Vietnamese men's volleyball also showcased individuals capable of making a difference at the regional level. Particularly, Ngoc Thuan's double of MVP and Best Outside Spiker is a powerful affirmation that he is emerging as the number one star of Vietnamese men's volleyball.
